Clara Howard

Paralegal and Interpreter

Clara Howard is a Paralegal and Interpreter at the Law Offices of Timothy W. Davis.  She has been a significant part of the team since June of 2020 and is fluent in both Spanish and English.

As the daughter and granddaughter of Mexican immigrants, Clara grew up speaking Spanish and developing an avid interest in and love for hearing and sharing people’s stories.  Because of this, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing from Providence College, graduating in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The summer of 2019, Clara worked as an administrative assistant at the firm, but quickly transitioned to assuming some paralegal responsibilities, such as taking sworn affidavits from clients in support of their applications for asylum and waivers.  It was during this summer that she realized the value of being bilingual and just how much she could use those skills to help people, especially immigrants struggling to assimilate to life in the United States.  After she graduated, Clara returned to work at the firm and in the three years since, has had the privilege of assisting clients pursuing all kinds of immigration benefits, especially asylum and cancellation of removal.

More than anything, Clara appreciates that her work at the Law Offices of Timothy W. Davis allows her to use her bilingual skills to help people.  She finds it humbling to meet clients and learn their stories and rewarding to know there are tangible ways for her to support them in their pursuits of better futures.
